Stage Lighting- Backlit Window

The blinds in my room do a terrible job of keeping the light out. Every morning in my dark room light starts to bleed through my blinds. This morning I realized it was backlit, by the sun. I thought this was interesting and immediately thought of a stage and what that would look like. I moved the blinds in different positions experimenting with the amount of light I can let through, the shape of that light, how much of that light will illuminate the surrounding scenery, and how much can we see behind the blinds? Also standing directly in front of this window in a dark room would make you backlit as well. I found it pretty cool that I found a "concealing" light in my room and wondered what other kinds of light I could find...
