What
drew me to take this photo was the sculpting of the lighting. The mixture of
the light with the door and darkened bricks can produce many metaphorical
thoughts. For example, the thought I produced from looking at the photo was how
we create dark brick walls within our mind and never let anything in, but there
is a door we can open up at any time, it’s just up to us if we want to let
anything in. The photo creates a feeling of revelation. There is a bright
positive glow that reflects off of the metal that is attached to the door.
Great image showing extreme source, contrast, intensity and angle! That sunlight is definitely streaming in! Really great commentary too! Would make for a great stylistic or metaphorical choice to put streaming light through a doorway on stage for a character needing a way out, right?
